The Faggots and Their Friends Between Revolutions is a beloved queer Utopian text written by Larry Mitchell with lush illustrations by Ned Asta, published by Calamus Press in 1977. Part-fable, part-manifesto, the book takes place in Ramrod, an empire in decline, and introduces us to the communities of the faggots, the women, the queens, the queer men, and the women who love women who are surviving the ways and world of men. Cherished by many over the four decades since its publication, The Faggots and Their Friends Between Revolutions offers a trenchant critique of capitalism, assimilation, and patriarchy that is deeply relevant today.

Qira Clarenbach, in addition to being a priestess of Stone Circle Wicca, is an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister and spiritual director who lives in Portland, OR. She has been involved with the tradition since its inception in 1999 and despite being separated from the SCW community by distance and UU pursuits for several years, was delighted to be the teacher-learner of the first introductory SCW class held in Oregon! While she's had ties to several other religious communities, the combination of devotion and service that is SCW is the heart of her practice. She is especially invested in teaching, counseling, writing, prayer and practice, mentorship, and Aspecting. She invites the One and the Many to inform and shape her daily life, and SCW helps maintain her connection to that Divine paradox. Her professional ministry may be found at http://thewayoftheriver.com

Bring some snacks, settle into a comfy chair, then sit back and enjoy being read to. The reading portion will take about 2 hours and there will be time for discussion afterwards.

Please register to receive an email reminder the day before the event with the Zoom Room link, as well as to let us know to expect you!
