E Pluribus Unum: Patriotic Slogans and Rituals of the USA with Tim "Tarax" McClennen
It may seem like many of the symbols, slogans, gestures, and music that we use to show our enthusiasm for our country are as old as the country itself. In this class we will examine the origins of the various conventional rituals of modern patriotism, where they come from, and when they were implemented.
Meet the Slavic Gods with Robin Woodruff
This oft overlooked Slavic Deities may be the key to understanding many other cultures' Pantheons. With roots that go back 16,000 years and possibly much more, come learn about the Goddesses and God and in the indigenous people of Old Europe. Meet the ancient Bear Goddess, Devana, the Bird Goddess, Siva, the Teacher of Magic, Veles, and the Lord of Lightning, Perun! You may never have heard of them, if so, this program will give you a quick overview of these deities. And if you have heard of them, come and learn how much more there is!
Warp, Weft, Wyrd: Weaving Community with Elian Byrd
Crafting is magic, we all know this. Put a crocheter in front of a basket of yearn and a hooked stick in their hand and two hours they'll have the most most amazing granny-square-cardigan. But how, apart from the act itself, can we pour our personal magic in our crafted creations? Join me as I break down how I build my tools, color, and materials into a spelled creation, and how it can be applied to any craft!
Alchemy 101 with Sarah Bumgarner
A long night spent circling, singing, dancing, drumming, and sharing around a beautiful fire. It’s not a party, it’s a process! Alchemical fire circles, like TriFire and Mayfire, are deeply transformative spaces where you can use the principles of alchemy to work through your personal lead (trauma, pain grief, etc.) and turn it into gold! Learn the basics of the alchemical processes with a beginner-friendly discussion with Sarah, TriFire co-laborator and Junior Fire Circle Princess
Wiccan Family Values: Interdependence and Sacredness-Connectedness with Jonathan "Snow Ba'al White"
We will meet together to look at the idea of Families of Blood, Choice, and Spirit. What is the origin of our need to connect with other people? How can we celebrate and affirm that need for interpersonal connection in ways that promote liberation, consent, and responsibility -- very different from the dominant culture's idea of the family as an institution based on dominance. We'll talk about Wiccan family values, and we will think together about ways to honor them in ceremony. This workshop is designed to help each person fight back against loneliness, isolation, and abusive models of close relationship. Come as you are.
Rituals:
Interdependence: A Celebration of Us, Blinx in service
